About this coffee
Oscar Vilchez is an artist by profession, but decided to go back to coffee farming, when he inherited some land from his father who was a coffee producer for whole his life. When growing up at the farm, his father’s coffee was always sold to local middlemen that traded coffee for clothes, food and medicines. The farm was still secluded at the time. Over the years a main road came closer and closer to the farm and more traders came to the area.
With the forming of a cooperative in the area, knowledge about farming coffee and varieties increased. When Oscar started farming a few years ago, he immediately planted the whole farm with Geisha seeds he got through the cooperative. This lot was fermented in cherry in grainpro bags for 48hours and then pulped. After pulping the coffee is fermented for another 24 hours in grainpro bags and then dried till right moisture content.
This coffee is very sweet and tropic fruit driven. Expect notes of mango, papaya and brown sugar.
